Robert represents manufacturers and distributors in high-exposure disputes involving allegations of design and manufacturing defect, failure to warn, warranty, negligence, wrongful death, and punitive damages. He also has extensive experience handling product recalls and personal injury and property damage cases involving fire. In addition, Robert handles complex commercial litigation involving breach of contract, business tort, and other disputes arising from high-value business and professional relationships.
He has tried cases to verdict and prepared and examined numerous expert witnesses across scientific, technical, and financial disciplines. Robert has briefed and argued numerous appeals and dispositive motions, including Daubert motions, and is well-versed in evaluating expert methodologies, scientific data, and forensic analysis central to complex litigation. Robert also has extensive experience defending doctors, hospitals, and non-medical clients in complex, high-exposure cases that demand an emphasis on science.
Robert graduated summa cum laude from the City University of New York at Baruch College. He earned his Juris Doctorate from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law with concentrations in General Litigation and Criminal Law & Procedure. During law school, he interned at the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office, completed Cardozo’s Intensive Trial Advocacy Program, participated in a litigation practicum, and served as a judicial intern to the Hon. Sherry Klein Heitler, Administrative Judge for the First Judicial District of New York.
Following law school, Robert served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Bronx County District Attorney’s Office, where he was regarded as a dedicated public servant and leader. As a prosecutor, he successfully handled hundreds of misdemeanor and felony cases from investigation through trial. He indicted dozens of violent felonies, including attempted murder, robbery, bribery, burglary, assault, narcotics offenses, and firearm possession, and tried multiple misdemeanor and felony cases to verdict.
