Sheridan A. Carr’s practice focuses on insurance defense, employment law, and commercial litigation. She represents clients in a broad range of matters involving constitutional claims, governmental immunity, labor and employment, and personal injury. Sheridan brings a thoughtful, strategic approach to litigation, with experience managing complex cases from pre-suit investigation through trial and appeal.

Before joining GRSM, Sheridan served as Special Assistant to the City Attorney for the City of Jackson, Mississippi, where she provided legal counsel to local government officials and departments, advising on compliance with state and federal law, oversaw high-profile litigation, drafting ordinances, and overseeing conflicts counsel in multi-party, complex litigation cases.

  • Obtained summary judgment on behalf of a municipality against a company that alleged breach of contract in connection with a lease agreement for office space
  • Obtained summary judgment on behalf of a municipality in a wrongful death case alleging excessive use of force
  • Obtained a jury verdict in favor of a municipality in federal court in connection with a terminated employee who alleged first amendment retaliation violations
  • Obtained summary judgment on behalf of a public university in connection with a terminated employee who alleged first amendment violations
