Ali Fatmi focuses his practice in the areas of environmental toxic tort and product liability. An experienced litigator with a focus on high-stakes regulatory and civil matters, Ali protects the interests of property owners, manufacturers, and corporate entities facing complex legal challenges.

  • Administrative Law: Ali has successfully represented clients before New York State governmental agencies, including the Division of Housing and Community Renewal (DHCR) and the Department of Housing Preservation and Development (DHPD), as well as in Article 78 proceedings challenging agency decisions against the New York State Attorney General’s Office.
  • Real Estate Litigation: Ali has handled Tax Certiorari proceedings for commercial properties, eminent domain disputes, and condemnation proceedings involving state agencies and utilities.
  • Transactional Due Diligence: Ali evaluates financial and regulatory risks for multifamily residential buildings in acquisitions and refinancing, including rent regulation status and compliance with affordable housing tax incentives such as J-51, 421-a, and 485-x.
  • Commercial Advocacy: Ali drafts and argues high-stakes motions before the New York Supreme Court, including motions for summary judgment and orders to show cause.
  • Trial Experience: An accomplished courtroom advocate, Ali has successfully litigated more than a dozen federal bench trials and secured favorable outcomes in New York State Supreme and Appellate Courts.
