Appellate

The bulk of Tara’s practice focuses on civil appeals before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and California Courts of Appeal. Tara has worked on a wide range of appeals, including ERISA, anti-SLAPP, general tort, employment, arbitration, and commercial litigation.

Healthcare & Insurance
Tara also handles cases involving healthcare litigation and bad faith defense. Tara has worked on cases involving the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (“ERISA”) and the Medicare Act, dealing with issues of preemption, exhaustion of administrative remedies, and litigation of claims for benefits, bad faith, and breach of fiduciary duty. Tara also handles complex litigation of insurance coverage and bad faith matters. These cases arise in the context of first and third-party property and casualty insurance coverage, UIM/UM coverage, and life, health, and disability matters.
