Vince Gunter brings over 25 years of extensive experience in cases involving commercial litigation, products liability, medical malpractice, toxic torts, environmental issues, and employment law. He has personally tried, managed, and settled hundreds of cases in federal and state courts across the nation, consistently delivering strategic victories for his clients in high-stakes commercial disputes.

In addition to his defense litigation practice, Vince represents insurance carriers in bad faith and coverage litigation throughout Missouri and Kansas, leveraging his extensive trial experience to protect insurers from extra-contractual liability exposure. He advises clients on claims handling best practices and Missouri and Kansas regulatory compliance to mitigate bad faith exposure before and after litigation arises.

Vince’s litigation excellence was recently recognized in March 2025 when Missouri Lawyers Weekly honored him with the prestigious “Top Defense Verdict” award for securing a complete defense verdict in Roslyn Barnes v. Athene Annuity in Jackson County, Missouri.

Vince’s unique perspective as former in-house counsel with an international logistics company enhances his commercial litigation practice, providing invaluable insights into corporate decision-making and risk management. This experience proves particularly valuable in cases involving commercial freight carriers, where he expertly navigates issues ranging from catastrophic injuries and EMRS data to strategic reserve management.

His environmental litigation practice spans nearly two decades, representing clients in complex civil and regulatory matters under CERCLA, the Clean Water Act, and Clean Air Act. Most recently, he successfully defended and resolved a multi-million-dollar cost recovery action involving multiple potentially responsible parties and contamination spanning over 70 years.

His legal foundation includes distinguished, honorable service as a Judge Advocate in the United States Army, where he was awarded the Bronze Star medal during his deployment to Iraq from 2004 to 2005, and experience as a federal law clerk for The Honorable Richard E. Dorr of the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri. This combination of military precision, judicial insight, and extensive trial experience enables Vince to deliver practical litigation strategies that consistently protect his clients’ interests in the most challenging legal matters.
