Bill Hughbanks is Senior Counsel at GRSM. His practice focuses on complex commercial litigation with an emphasis on construction related matters. Bill regularly assists clients at the outset of a construction project by reviewing, negotiating and developing contract documents to protect the clients’ interest. He also counsels his clients in preparing claims and evaluating liability when a dispute arises on a project.
- Represented a landlord in a dispute with a commercial tenant who allowed the commercial property to fall into severe disrepair. Successfully tried a bench trial resulting in nearly all repair costs being awarded to the landlord/client, in excess of $150,000, along with nearly all attorney’s fees.
- Represented an excavation contractor in a dispute with project owner who alleged that improper fill dirt was deposited onto the project. The matter was tried to an arbitrator who returned a complete defense decision in favor of the excavation contractor.
