Wing Yan Wong is Co-Managing Partner of the Las Vegas and Reno offices and is a member of the Commercial Litigation and Professional Liability practice groups.  Her work includes both transaction and litigation.

Transaction

Wing is a member of the firm’s national financing opinion practice, providing services to clients throughout the United States in large complex financing transactions often involving numerous borrowers and guarantors. 

She also regularly advises businesses in corporate matters, including business planning, formation, and governance.  She is often asked to help companies facilitate sales of assets and develop agreements that can streamline the contracting process for her clients.

Litigation

Wing maintains a diverse litigation practice in state and federal court through both trial and appellate levels. Her practice focuses primarily in the area of commercial litigation, including but not limited to, business torts, contract claims, and common interest community law. She also defends and counsels clients in matters related to various state and federal consumer protection statutes, such as the Fair Credit Reporting Act. She regularly defends clients in areas of legal, accounting, broker, and other professional agency malpractice claims. Ms. Wong’s professional liability experience includes defending professionals, including insurance agents and brokers, against serious claims of negligence.

She serves as office co-liaison to the Firm’s Diversity Committee and is involved in local diversity and inclusion initiatives in the Las Vegas office.

Prior to joining GRSM, she was an associate at a local law firm, concentrating on insurance defense and common interest community law. Wing was also a legal intern with the Hong Kong Department of Intellectual Property. While attending law school, she served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Susan H. Johnson of the Eighth Judicial District Court of Clark County, Nevada.

  • Ninth Circuit affirmance of dismissal of insurance bad faith putative class action brought against national insurer client over COVID claims denial.
  • Nevada Supreme Court affirmance of dismissal of legal malpractice claim against firm client based on litigation tolling rule in issue of first impression in Nevada.
  • Summary judgment in favor of food processor manufacturer client in UCC Article II dispute, wherein plaintiff alleged machinery failed to perform to specifications.
  • Represented software developer against fraudulent representation and breach of contract claims arising from implementation of CRM software.
  • Represented software company against fraud and contract claims arising from sale of company.
  • Summary judgment for homeowners’ associations on federal due process and takings clause, deceptive trade practices, and wrongful foreclosure claims brought by other secured creditors.
  • Obtained voluntary dismissal of federal due process and state statutory violation claims against claims administrator client acting on behalf of city municipality over handling of workers’ compensation claims.
