Bill is an experienced litigator with a proven track record of delivering excellent results for his clients. A cornerstone of his practice style is his focus on effective communication with his clients, opposing counsel, experts, and the Courts. Always conscious of the cost of litigation, Bill works with his clients to create a case-specific solution on his matters that balances remote and in-person appearances along with strategic expert retention to maximize cost-effective results.

In addition to his pre-suit claim investigation/ insurance coverage work, Bill’s experience includes multiple jury trials where he served as the first chair/ lead counsel and some limited appellate work. He has experience with a wide range of insurance defense related matters such as first-party property damage, third party liability, construction defect, defective design/ professional liability involving architects and engineers, premises liability, windshield replacement, and general liability throughout all stages of litigation. Bill thoroughly enjoys trial work whether it be an early identified strategy choice or jumping in to assist a colleague when settlement becomes unattainable.

Prior to joining GRSM, Bill was a partner in a large state-wide insurance defense firm where he lead the first party property division of their large Tampa office. In this role, he and his team handled a large volume of both litigated claims as well as pre-suit investigations across the entire state of Florida involving both residential and commercial policies.

Prior to practicing law, Bill spent four years on active duty with the U.S. Air Force working in aircraft maintenance on the KC-135. While on active duty he deployed in excess of 700 days in support of the Global War on Terrorism. After active duty, he continued his service in the Air Force Reserves where he worked as a full-time technician while completing law school.
