Trial attorney Zoe G. Appler focuses her practice on the defense of companies and corporations in toxic tort, transportation, environmental and related class action litigation in state and federal courts around the United States. Zoe’s meticulous approach to litigation involves developing compelling case theories by collaborating with experts and corporate representatives to achieve winning outcomes, regardless of the circumstance. Her experience both inside and outside the courtroom contributes to her zealous advocacy style and passion for her clients.

Prior to joining the firm, Zoe gained experience through a broad spectrum of trial practice areas, including insurance defense, labor and employment, personal injury, motor vehicle law, premises liability, and general civil liability. Zoe’s diverse background extends beyond law to the realm of policy and research. Prior to becoming an attorney, Zoe spent her early career working on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., where she worked heavily on domestic policy analysis and government relations.

Zoe also serves as an adjunct professor at Temple University’s School of Law, where she teaches Advanced Trial Advocacy and coaches for the Temple Rosner National Trial Team. Her greatest passion beyond the law is teaching, and she loves to prepare current law students for the daunting world of trial practice after law school. Serving as a mentor to many of her students, Zoe spends her free time judging mock trial competitions across the country at both the law school and undergraduate levels. In addition, Zoe is a recruitment chair for the National Association of Legal Advocacy Educators, and an active member of the Women in Law Committee for the Chicago Bar Association.
