In addition, Allison represents her health care clients before medical, dental, nursing, and mental health licensing boards. Allison also has extensive experience defending correctional medical, dental, and mental health providers across the country against Section 1983 deliberate indifference claims, and is frequently invited to speak and publish on this topic. Professional Liability Defense

Allison routinely defends malpractice claims against professionals in a wide range of industries, including health care providers, veterinarians, accountants, architects, engineers, attorneys, insurance agents and brokers, directors and officers, and real estate agents. In addition, Allison also advises and represents her clients in connection with professional licensing board investigations and inquiries.

Allison handles appellate matters—including briefing and oral argument—for a wide variety of clients before the North Carolina Court of Appeals, the North Carolina Supreme Court, and Federal Courts of Appeals across the country. She also provides appellate advice to outside defense counsel prior to and during trial in order to identify potential appellate concerns and to ensure that all issues are properly preserved for appeal.
