Ashley Eckerly is a Partner in GRSM's Detroit and Chicago offices. Ashley's errors and omissions practice has blossomed since she relocated from Chicago back to her hometown, Detroit. She has extensive experience in defending insurance brokers and agents on claims of negligence, misrepresentation, and equity-based common law claims. Ashley, a Detroit native, prides herself of getting results by combining diligence with creativity. She has worked on trial teams in Michigan, Illinois, Kentucky and California.
She serves as national counsel for several clients involved in toxic tort and product liability actions throughout the country, which requires her to regularly analyze choice of law, personal jurisdiction, and a number of other issues consistently raised in multi-state litigation. She has trial experience and is familiar with all aspects of discovery and motion practice under the Michigan, Illinois, and the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure. Her integrity and work ethic are unparalleled and she takes great pride in consistently keeping her clients updated and making them part of the decision-making process.
Ashley earned her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law in 2009 and graduated from Michigan State University with a B.A., cum laude, in General Business Administration in 2006. She remains a die-hard Spartan fan to this day. Her background also includes an internship at the Lincoln Hall of Juvenile Justice where she obtained experience in family law, including juvenile offenses and family custody disputes.
