Biography

Brent T. Buyse represents a diverse list of clients in a variety of industries, practicing across the country wherever his clients have needed him. Brent has a genuine passion for the practice of law. He continuously seeks the most effective legal strategies and to create bespoke approaches to increasingly novel and unique legal issues. Brent consistently delivers favorable results building on his successes in the courtroom, in negotiations, and with his rigorous pursuit of jurisprudence.
 
Brent has skillfully represented corporations in commercial disputes involving breach of contract, large scale data network implementations, and data breach events where millions of dollars were at stake. He has also represented multiple companies and online retailers and obtained complete dismissals for claims involving breach of contract, False Claims Act, Program Fraud Civil Remedies Act, Telephone Consumer Protection Act, Deceptive Trade Practices Act, Unfair Debt Collection Act, as well as a variety of tort claims. Brent is also well versed in defending claims involving violations of the Texas Business Organizations Code and Texas Property Code. He has successfully argued numerous dispositive motions and even defended claims to verdict, in arbitration, and at the court of appeals. 
 
Brent is licensed in Texas and Illinois. He regularly appears pro hac vice across the country. Brent is a graduate of DePaul University College of Law in Chicago, Illinois. He was awarded Best Oral Argument in the 2016 Leiden-Sarin International Air Law Moot Court Competition held in Jakarta, Indonesia. Also while at DePaul, Brent was appointed as the Chief Justice of the Student Bar Association. Brent, who is fluent in Spanish, received his LLM in International & European Business Law at the prestigious Universidad Pontificia Comillas in Madrid, Spain. As part of his LLM, he wrote his thesis on securitization and non-bank financial lending.
 
Brent is a dual US and Belgian citizen and was raised in Plano, Texas. He ran track in college at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee where he majored in International Economics.
