Brent T. Buyse is an Associate in the Dallas office of Gordon & Rees and is a member of the Commercial Litigation, International Law, Aviation and Employment Law practice groups. Since joining Gordon & Rees, Mr. Buyse has represented a diverse group of clients in a variety of industries across the State of Texas. Mr. Buyse has obtained summary judgment victories from Dallas to San Antonio and all the way to the South Texas border. He has appeared pro hac vice in multiple jurisdictions and successfully resolved high profile matters before state agencies and administrative law courts. Mr. Buyse also has extensive experience protecting the interest of clients and their families in domestic matters.
Mr. Buyse is a graduate of DePaul University College of Law in Chicago, Illinois. During his time in law school, Mr. Buyse developed his advocacy skills through international moot court competitions. He was awarded Best Oral Argument in the 2016 Leiden-Sarin International Air Law Moot Court Competition held in Jakarta, Indonesia. Also while at DePaul, Mr. Buyse was appointed as the Chief Justice of the Student Bar Association. Mr. Buyse, who is fluent in Spanish, received his LLM in International & European Business Law at the prestigious Universidad Pontificia Comillas in Madrid, Spain. As part of his LLM, he wrote his thesis on securitization and non-bank financial lending.
Mr. Buyse is a dual US and Belgian citizen and was raised in Plano, Texas. He attended Plano Senior High School where he was competitive in track & field. Mr. Buyse went on to run track in college at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee where he majored in International Economics.
