Elina Geykher Wineburgh is Senior Counsel in Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani’s Los Angeles Office where she is a member of the Employment practice group. Ms. Wineburgh defends corporate and individual clients in all types of employment matters, including claims of harassment, retaliation, discrimination, wrongful termination, failure to accommodate and engage in the interactive process, violations of the California Labor Code, ADA violations and breach of employment contract claims. In addition to handling mattes in civil court, Ms. Wineburgh regularly counsels employers on day-to-day employment issues, provides advice and guidance about their existing policies and procedures and evaluates compliance with new and existing state and federal laws. She also helps employers with questions pertaining to employee discipline, hiring and termination decisions and inquiries related to compensation, as well as formulating creative strategies for how to handle and resolve litigation claims. Ms. Wineburgh has successfully represented clients in state court, as well as administrative agencies including the Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH), the California Labor Commissioner (DLSE), the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the Commission on Professional Competence. Ms. Wineburgh speaks on topics including recent developments in employment law and emerging social media issues in the workplace.
Prior to joining Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani, Ms. Wineburgh practiced business litigation, medical malpractice defense, administrative law, and criminal defense. Ms. Wineburgh also worked for a major television and movie studio handling intellectual property, content protection and employment claims.
