Biography

Mike Britt litigates energy infrastructure, oil & gas production, real property, commercial, construction, professional liability, and trade secrets disputes in state and federal courts, as well as the American Arbitration Association. As part of the energy infrastructure team, Mike has aided the nation’s largest pipeline companies plan, construct, and operate several billion-dollar capital infrastructure projects.

Much of Mike’s practice is dedicated to achieving optimal and efficient results even when tasked with highly technical issues across various areas of law. In addition to his work with midstream clients, Mike assists Oil & Gas Exploration and Production Companies navigate regulatory and landowner issues.
Mike devotes a significant portion of his practice to focusing on commercial, professional liability, contractual liability, construction, and trade secret and covenant not to compete cases and disputes. This work has resulted in the successfully resolving an adverse arbitration decision for one of the nation’s leading commercial landscaping companies, assisting a global financial institution with adverse third-party discovery disputes, and protecting a local technology company from losing critical trade secrets.

Prior to law school, Mike spent considerable time in the energy industry working for a local oil and gas company, interning at the Ohio Attorney General’s PUCO Section, and assisting in the eminent domain proceedings of a major pipeline project. Mike has conducted title research and review in 14 different Ohio Recorder’s offices, including full probate and mineral chains dating back to original government grant. He also reviewed title for a linear pipeline project in Ohio involving hundreds of properties across 18 Ohio Counties. During law school, Mike clerked at a regional defense firm which handled a wide variety of litigation matters.
