James H. Mokhtarzadeh is an Associate in the Oakland office of Gordon & Rees and is a member of the Environmental/Toxic Tort practice group. Prior to joining Gordon and Rees in Oakland, Mr. Mokhtarzadeh practiced business litigation in Sacramento, representing clients ranging from national banks, public utilities, railroads, state agencies, and local business in all stages of pre-trial litigation as well as through settlement.
Mr. Mokhtarzadeh received his J.D. from the George Washington University Law School in 2017. While in studying Washington D.C., Mr. Mokhtarzadeh clerked for various federal agencies, including the Environmental Protection Agency, where he was accepted into the Clinical Legal Education Honors Program for the Office of Enforcement of and Compliance Assurance, the Department of Transportation, and the Department of Energy. Through these clerkships, Mr. Mokhtarzadeh developed a wide range of experience and skills with various environmental statutes such as NEPA, CERCLA, and RCRA as well as enforcement actions and the procedures thereof.
