James J. Tamulski is a Partner in the San Francisco office of Gordon & Rees. Mr. Tamulski is a prominent maritime attorney with extensive litigation experience in all areas of maritime and admiralty law, including matters involving seamen and longshoremen, carriage of passengers, personal injury and wrongful death, oil and air pollution, terminal agreements, product liability, charter parties, bills of lading, cargo loss and damage, salvage, marine insurance and customs issues.

Mr. Tamulski started his career in the U.S. Coast Guard in Washington, D.C., assisting the Department of Justice in litigating vessel collisions, groundings, environmental pollution, wrongful deaths and aviation disasters. He received a Citation of Merit from President Ford for this work. After resigning his commission as Lieutenant Commander, Mr. Tamulski returned to San Francisco to join the maritime department at Graham & James. He was a partner there and left to open the San Francisco office of Kaye, Rose, Tamulski & Maltzman LLP. In 2001, the San Francisco partners left to form the firm of Emard Danoff Port Tamulski & Walovich LLP.

Mr. Tamulski has served as an early neutral evaluator and mediator in maritime law for the U.S. District Court, Northern District of California. He has published articles in the University of San Francisco Maritime Law Journal, and is a sought-after presenter who has spoken on numerous occasions before the Pacific Admiralty Seminar, the San Francisco Board of Maritime Underwriters, West Coast marine claims organizations, and customs and trade expositions.
