James L. Ellison is an Associate in the Portland office of Gordon & Rees and is a member of the Insurance practice group. Mr. Ellison’s practice is focused on providing coverage guidance to insurers on first-party and third-party claims. He represents both regional and nationwide insurance carriers in disputes with a wide variety of claimants. Prior to joining Gordon & Rees, Mr. Ellison was a senior associate at a national insurance coverage firm and, before that, an associate at a civil litigation firm. At Gordon & Rees, he draws on his background in insurance defense litigation to litigate coverage matters when necessary.
Mr. Ellison attended the University of Arkansas School of Law. While in law school, he was selected to the Arkansas Law Review and served as a founding member of the Environmental Law Society. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Ellison graduated from the University of Louisiana, Monroe, with honors with a B.S. in Finance and a minor in economics. He is dedicated to integrating her business management skills into her law practice and strives to achieve the most efficient results for his clients with the utmost professionalism.
