Jay Blumenkopf is an experienced litigator and trial attorney, representing corporations and insurance companies in matters throughout the United States. He devotes a substantial part of his practice to the defense of ERISA life, health and disability benefit claims and the defense of insurance coverage and bad faith matters.
Mr. Blumenkopf is a fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, an invitation-only trial lawyer honorary society limited to fewer than one-half of one percent of American lawyers. He is a frequent lecturer and has served on the Advisory Board of the Bureau of National Affairs, Inc., Civil Trial Manual and has been a faculty member at New York Law School, the National Institute for Trial Advocacy, and the Hofstra Law School Trial Techniques Program. He has also authored numerous articles in legal publications.
In 2014, Mr. Blumenkopf was awarded the Litigation Counsel Civic Achievement Award for his work with One Heart World-Wide, a third world infant and maternal health charity founded at the request of the Dalai Lama.
