Kendra N. Stark is Co-Chair of the firm’s Correctional Healthcare Practice Group. She focuses her practice on the defense of healthcare companies and providers in high exposure and complex litigation, with substantial experience defending Section 1983 deliberate indifference cases against correctional medical and mental healthcare providers.

Kendra’s practice also includes the defense of licensed professionals in professional liability litigation, including real estate agents and brokers, veterinarians, attorneys, insurance agents and brokers, and directors and officers. She also regularly represents clients in connection with professional licensing board investigations and inquiries, including with the Real Estate Commission, Board of Nursing, Medical Board, and Veterinary Medical Board. Kendra also has significant experience representing trucking and transportation companies in catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death cases, defending complex commercial and business actions, and handling bid protests at the Government Accountability Office.

In addition to successfully defending her clients in the courtroom, Kendra puts her experience and skill to work to provide tailored consultation services, in-service training, and advice and counsel to address the unique and nuanced challenges of her professional clients. Kendra is passionate about providing her clients with a comprehensive, full range of services to both proactively reduce their litigation risk and aggressively defend their claims. Kendra’s dedication and personal attention to her clients make her a strong, knowledgeable advocate and a reliable partner to companies and individuals alike.

Kendra has been recognized by North Carolina Super Lawyers as a Rising Star in the areas of professional liability and medical malpractice, and as a Young Gun by North Carolina Business Legal Elite. Kendra obtained her J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. After graduating from Wake Forest, Kendra practiced insurance defense litigation at a mid-sized firm in Raleigh prior to joining GRSM in September 2020. Kendra is also passionate about community service, and she both leads and volunteers with multiple public service and pro bono projects within the firm and through her local bar association. Outside of the office, Kendra enjoys spending time with her husband and their two dogs hiking, camping, and enjoying the outdoors.
