Mr. Pursell is a Partner in the San Francisco office. His practice focuses on complex insurance coverage matters and bad faith litigation. Prior to joining Gordon & Rees, Mr. Pursell worked at a reputable firm in Oakland, California where his practice also focused on complex insurance coverage matters as well as litigation. Mr. Pursell has significant experience in a variety of fields outside of insurance, including premise liability, negligence, breach of contract, Bankruptcy, creditors’ remedies, and commercial litigation.
Additionally, Mr. Pursell has participated in all stages of litigation, including trial and appeals. While in law school, Mr. Pursell worked as a research assistant for the then Acting Chancellor and Dean Leo Martinez, conducting substantial research and editing numerous insurance related articles, treatises, speeches, and books authored by Mr. Martinez, including the New Appleman Insurance Law Practice Guide and an Insurance Law text book published by West.
Mr. Pursell has worked with the Marshall Brennan Constitutional Literacy Initiative teaching Constitutional Law to high school students in Oakland.
