Samantha Gamboa focuses her practice on complex litigation, environmental law, regulatory compliance, and insurance law. Ms. Gamboa’s practice includes defending pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers, automotive manufacturers, aviation manufacturers, as well as companies involved in commercial disputes.  Ms. Gamboa represents clients in all stages of litigation including electronic discovery, depositions, motion practice, settlement negotiations, and trial.  

Ms. Gamboa specializes in directing and managing complex electronic discovery in an organized, straight-forward, and cohesive fashion in order to save time and money and to provide significant value to her clients' cases.

Ms. Gamboa also represents clients in matters involving the Federal Clean Water Act, CERCLA, Oregon Superfund, Washington State's Model Toxics Control Act (MTCA), National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Washington's State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA), Endangered Species Act (ESA), and environmental coverage insurance. Ms. Gamboa routinely represents clients in cases involving contamination and hazardous substance liability, citizen suit claims, and environmental insurance coverage disputes. She also advises and advocates for clients on environmental licensing and permitting matters and federal and state agency enforcement actions.  For example, Ms. Gamboa routinely assists clients with compliance issues related to their Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) or state-issued Industrial Stormwater Permits and helps her clients develop cost-effective solutions to maintain compliance and avoid or resolve citizen suits based on alleged permit violations.

Prior to joining Gordon & Rees, Ms. Gamboa practiced at a large regional Northwest law firm and served as a judicial clerk for the Hon. Anna J. Brown of the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon.

Community Involvement

Ms. Gamboa’s pro bono work includes representing victims of domestic violence in contested restraining order hearings through the Oregon State Bar Domestic Violence Project.
