Stacey Cooper is a partner and works primarily in the area of employment law with an emphasis on wage and hour cases, including class actions and complex representative actions such as California’s Private Attorney General Act (“PAGA”). Ms. Cooper represents transportation companies, government contractors, hotels, restaurants, and other businesses throughout the state of California. Ms. Cooper’s practice also includes matters involving wrongful termination, harassment, discrimination, breach of contract, and violation of the ADA.
In addition to defending employment litigation matters, Ms. Cooper works to assist her clients in developing policies and procedures designed to minimize the risk of law suits, and particularly, the risk of class action law suits. Specifically, Ms. Cooper routinely counsels her clients on compliance with federal and state wage designations, alternate pay structures, meal and rest period policies, wage and hour compliance, and other employment related matters. Additionally, Ms. Cooper works closely with companies to defend against cases involving employee misclassification, and has worked closely with government agencies such as the Department of Labor to resolve matters which require large scale reclassification of employees.
