Biography

Steven M. Stastny is a Partner in the New Orleans and Birmingham offices of GRSM. He is a member of the Employment Law, Commercial Litigation, Health Care and Trucking & Transportation practice groups.

Steven regularly litigates insured multi-defendant commercial transportation injury/casualty matters and also defends related employment, business, commercial and insurance claims.

Steven has broad litigation experience with respect to all federal and state discrimination, retaliation, harassment and leave statutes as well as statutory and state common law "personal injury" claims such as negligence, assault and battery, invasion of privacy, libel and slander, outrage/intentional infliction of emotional distress, workers' compensation and co-employee claims and other injury claims. Steven has litigated hours-worked, minimum wage and overtime claims arising under the Fair Labor Standards Act both as collective actions and individual claims.

Steven also handles personal injury and commercial litigation matters as well as incoming and outgoing employment and service contracts (including formation, negotiation, and litigation) for physicians, executives and sales professionals including non-compete, non-solicitation, trade secret, bonus, recruitment and equity/profit share litigation.

Steven has handled hundreds of cases in federal and state courts throughout Alabama, Georgia, Indiana, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, and Tennessee.
