Taylor Hixon provides comprehensive legal counsel to both businesses and educational institutions, helping them navigate complex legal challenges and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. With a strong background in both law and education, Taylor brings a unique perspective to her work, offering clients practical and effective solutions tailored to their needs.

In her employment law practice, Taylor assists in defending against claims related to discrimination, wrongful termination, harassment, and retaliation, including those brought under Title VII, the ADA, the FMLA, and corresponding state statutes. She also provides counsel to employers on personnel policies and procedures. Taylor has experience representing clients at the administrative, district, and circuit court levels. She further supports businesses in navigating a broad range of complex commercial matters, including breach of contract claims and business-related torts.

As a member of the Education practice group, Taylor provides assistance in representing K-12 school districts across various facts of education law. A significant portion of her practice focuses on matters related to the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), alleged violations of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, student discipline, employee investigations, as well as confidentiality and student records. Additionally, Taylor has provided support in representing school districts during due process hearings.

Taylor earned her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from University of Illinois, Chicago, where she a member of the Law Review and Moot Court Honors Council Boards. Before and during law school, Taylor gained extensive experience as an educator, teaching across various states, grade levels, subjects and settings throughout her career. She utilizes this background to provide clients with clear, tailored solutions and insights that effectively address their needs.
