Thomas L. Bellifemine is an Associate in the New York office of Gordon & Rees and is a member of the Employment Law practice group. Mr. Bellifemine represents employers in federal and state court, arbitral forums, and before administrative agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the New York State Division of Human Rights and the New York City Commission on Human Rights. He has experience litigating a wide range of employment matters including, but not limited to claims of employment discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.
Mr. Bellifemine has extensive experience investigating employment matters and litigating cases from inception through trial or settlement. This includes, but is not limited to, drafting pleadings; drafting discovery and dispositive motions; arguing motions; taking and defending depositions; attending court conferences in both federal and state courts; and handling mediations and other settlement negotiations, including negotiating and drafting settlement agreements.
Prior to joining Gordon & Rees, Mr. Bellifemine represented plaintiffs in a wide range of employment matters in both state and federal courts, as well as before administrative agencies. Mr. Bellifemine began his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in the Kings County District Attorney’s Office, where he prosecuted felonies and misdemeanors from arrest through jury trial.
