Yan Ren is an Associate in the San Diego office of Gordon & Rees and is a member of the Intellectual Property and Commercial Litigation practice groups. Ms. Ren represents U.S. and foreign clients in intellectual property and business matters, including trademarks, trade secrets, patents, copyrights, unfair competition, corporate, contracts, fraud, online advertising, and false advertising. With her research experience in FDA and industry experience in food and biotech industries, Ms. Ren also enjoys helping her clients in food & beverage, consumer products, and life science industries to comply with relevant government regulations and administrative laws related to agencies such as FDA, FTC, and EPA. She also provides strategic advice to clients on topics including e-commerce retail, online advertising, and intellectual property protection to protect and strengthen their business.
Prior to joining Gordon & Rees, Ms. Ren successfully defended a public entity in various types of civil litigation matters in both state and federal courts. Ms. Ren has extensive experience in all stages of civil litigation from responding discovery requests to drafting and winning dispositive motions.
During law school, Ms. Ren clerked at both an international law firm and a local boutique firm for various intellectual property and business matters. Ms. Ren also worked as a judicial extern during law school for the Honorable Dana Sabraw at the United States District Court Southern California District. Before law school, Ms. Ren was a microbiologist and worked in the biotech & food industry.
