The Daily Journal has released its inaugural list of the "50 Largest California Firms," ranking Gordon & Rees the 13th largest firm in 2010 with 291 attorneys throughout five California offices. The new state-wide list was added to the Daily Journal's two regular annual reports: 25 Largest Northern California Law Firms and 25 Largest Southern California Law Firms. Gordon & Rees's rankings are as follows:
1. 13th largest law firm in California
2. 10th largest law firm in the San Francisco Area
3. 3rd largest law firm in San Diego County
4. 16th largest law firm in Northern California
5. 13th largest law firm in Southern California
The Daily Journal's assessment of California's legal services market is that "things are looking up. ? The numbers alone signal a turning point in the health and stability of firms since the recession." Gordon & Rees was noted to have "made significant gains" as one of the "few firms [that] actually enjoyed steady growth over the past two years."
Continuing National Expansion: In January and February 2011, Gordon & Rees continued to expand its national presence with eight additional attorneys in California (Sacramento, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego); two attorneys who opened a new office in Atlanta and launched a new Sports, Media and Entertainment Law Practice; six attorneys who expanded the Employment Law Practice and Insurance Group in the Miami office; three attorneys in the Employment Law, Commercial Litigation, and Agricultural Chemicals & Pesticides practices in the Denver office; and a Commercial Litigation attorney in the New York office.
