Gordon & Rees has opened an office in Rapid City, South Dakota, with Intellectual Property partner Susan Meyer in residence as managing partner. With this new addition, Gordon & Rees now has 27 offices in 18 states throughout the U.S.
Susan, who joined the firm in 2003, previously divided her time between the San Diego office and her home in South Dakota. In recent years, Susan has built an active IP practice in the state working with clients such as the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology, QuidFit, RCC Western Shores, and a variety of technology start-up companies in fields ranging from software engineering to oil field technology. The office will draw on attorneys throughout the firm to support a service offering focused on intellectual property and other business legal needs.
Rapid City is the second largest city in the state with a population of 68,000, and is a major medical care center for a five-state region, centered around the Rapid City Regional Hospital and the Indian Health Service's Sioux San Hospital.
