Gordon & Rees Launches Privacy & Data Security Blog

Gordon & Rees has launched Privacy Teaches and Breaches, a blog that covers the privacy and data security landscape by providing invaluable information regarding rules, regulations, challenges and risk assessment companies face in today's high-tech world.

Edited by partner Andrew D. Castricone, the blog offers perspectives on timely legal issues involving cyber attacks, data breaches, and the challenges businesses face in maintaining and protecting customer, employee, and confidential information.

With contributions from members of Gordon & Rees’s Privacy & Data Security Practice Group, the blog discusses best practices for compliance with evolving state, federal, and international laws and regulations; creation, implementation, and maintenance of sound data security practices and procedures; and risk assessment, management, responses and notification requirements related to data breaches. The blog also addresses risk management to avoid litigation, including class actions, and to limit and mitigate potential liabilities from unauthorized use and disclosure.

One of the fastest-growing firms in the country, Gordon & Rees is a national litigation and business transactions firm with more than 575 lawyers and 32 offices in 20 states. In 2014, The National Law Journal ranked the firm 89th on its list of the largest U.S. firms and The American Lawyer ranked the firm at No. 131 on the Am Law 200 and at No. 26 on its Diversity Scorecard. Gordon & Rees has been recognized on the “BTI Client Service A-Team” survey for the past three years and has been honored as a 2014 "Go-To Law Firm" for Fortune 500 companies as well as selected for inclusion on Corporate Counsel magazine’s 2014 “Who Represents America’s Biggest Companies” list.
