Gordon & Rees Welcomes Sixteen New Attorneys in August 2018

In August, Gordon & Rees welcomed sixteen new attorneys to our Atlanta, Austin, Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Oakland, Orange County, and San Diego offices. They join us as members of the Appellate, Commercial Litigation, Drug & Medical Device, Employment, Environmental/Toxic Tort, and Tort & Product Liability Practice Groups.

Nora Bloom, Senior Counsel
Chicago, Environmental/Toxic Tort

Nora joins the Chicago office as a member of the Environmental/Toxic Tort practice group. She focuses her practice on the defense of toxic tort, product liability, premises liability, and professional liability matters. Nora earned her J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law and her B.A. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.


Joseph Corsello, Associate
New York, Tort & Product Liability / Commercial Litigation

Joseph joins the New York office as a member of the Tort & Product Liability and Commercial Litigation practice groups. He has experience handling a range of complex litigation, including construction, premises liability, real estate, transportation and business litigation. Prior to joining the firm, he practiced at a national law firm representing insurance companies, financial institutions, real estate owners and managers throughout all aspects of litigation. Joseph earned his J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and his B.A. from Brandeis University.


Mohammad Haque, Associate
New York, Tort & Product Liability

Mohammad joins the New York office as a member of the Tort & Product Liability practice group. Mohammad earned his J.D. from State University of New York at Buffalo and his B.A. from John Jay College of Criminal Justice.


James Hester, Senior Counsel
San Diego, Employment

James joins the San Diego office as a member of the Employment practice group. He has tried, arbitrated, and mediated dozens of cases for Fortune 500 clients and others; taken hundreds of depositions; handled numerous appeals; supervised dozens of employees; general counsel for several companies. James earned his J.D. from the University of San Diego and his B.A. from the University of Florida.


John Andrew Hutton, Senior Counsel
Austin, Drug & Medical Device / Tort & Product Liability / Appellate / Commercial Litigation

Andrew joins the Austin office as a member of the Drug & Medical Device, Tort & Product Liability, Appellate, and Commercial Litigation practice groups. He has developed a broad practice representing clients in complex civil and appellate litigation pending in state and federal courts throughout Texas and around the country. He has extensive experience in a wide variety of litigation matters, including business and commercial disputes, product liability, premises defect, construction defect, toxic tort and personal injury cases. Andrew earned his J.D. from Duke University School of Law and his B.A. from Tulane University.


Larissa Kirkland, Associate
Denver, Employment

Larissa joins the Denver office as a member of the Employment practice group. Her practice encompasses all areas of employment law, including defending against charges of discrimination, employment litigation defense, policy development, internal investigations, and advising on day-to-day employment law matters in office and manufacturing environments. Larissa earned her J.D. from University of Denver Sturm College of Law and her B.A. from the University of Missouri – St. Louis.


Illianov Lopez Larancuent, Associate
New York, Tort & Product Liability

Illianov joins the New York office as a member of the Tort & Product Liability practice group. He has experience representing doctors and hospitals in complex medical malpractice litigation and a major U.S. auto manufacturer in asbestos litigation. Illianov earned his J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law and his B.A. from the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York.


Megan Mitchell, Associate
Houston, Employment

Megan joins the Houston office as a member of the Employment practice group. She has litigated employment claims for individuals and businesses, including claims arising under the FLSA, Title VII, the ADA, the ADEA, the TCHRA, the NLRA, the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, and similar federal and state statutes and regulations. Megan represents clients before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Department of Labor by writing position statements and conferring with investigators. Megan earned her J.D. from Baylor Law School and her B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin.


Audette Paul Morales, Partner
Orange County, Commercial Litigation

Audette joins the Orange County office as a member of the Commercial Litigation practice group. She regularly defends financial services firms, financial advisors and registered investment advisers, in matters involving claims for unsuitability, negligence, breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, unauthorized trading, churning, elder abuse, breach of contract, violation of federal and state securities and consumer protection laws, and related claims, before the Financial Industry Regulatory Agency (FINRA) and in state superior and appellate courts as well as federal court. Ms. Morales also frequently assists clients with regulatory matters, including FINRA and SEC examinations and on-the-record interviews, and consults with clients on regulatory hot topics such as senior investor protection. She also handles Central Registration Depository (“CRD”) record expungements through FINRA on almost a daily basis. Audette earned her J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law and her B.A. from the University of Southern California.


Jeffrey Murphy, Associate
New York, Tort & Product Liability

Jeffrey joins the New York office as a member of the Tort & Product Liability practice group. Jeffrey earned his J.D. from Albany Law School and his B.A. from Brigham Young University.


Christopher O'Brien, Associate
New York, Tort & Product Liability / Commercial Litigation

Christopher joins the New York office as a member of the Tort & Product Liability and Commercial Litigation practice groups. He as negotiated and favorably settled numerous cases on behalf of his clients prior to and during litigation. Before he began working in the product liability field, Christopher represented insurance carriers, third-party administrators and self-insured employers in matters arising under the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act and its extensions, including the Defense Base Act and War Hazards Compensation Act before administrative tribunals and federal courts throughout the U.S. He has also defended clients in general liability, medical malpractice and employment and labor law suits in state and federal courts. Christopher earned his J.D. from Pace University School of Law and his B.A. from the University of Tampa John H. Sykes College of Business.


Nicole Ortiz, Associate
Los Angeles, Commercial Litigation

Nicole joins the Los Angeles office as a member of the Commercial Litigation practice group. Nicole earned her J.D. from Southwestern Law School and her B.A. from the College of the Holy Cross.


Solomon Pantuch, Associate
Oakland, Environmental/Toxic Tort

Solomon joins the Oakland office as a member of the Environmental/Toxic Tort practice group. He has experience counseling and defending commercial disputes for corporations and small businesses, with considerable experience defending manufacturers, suppliers, and distributors in all aspects of toxic and mass tort litigation. Solomon earned his J.D. from Golden Gate University School of Law and his B.A. from Ashford University.


Nirali Patel, Associate
Los Angeles, Commercial Litigation

Nirali joins the Los Angeles office as a member of the Commercial Litigation practice group. She has experience defending clients in employment law matters including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and wage and hour claims. She has additional experience in general litigation matters including representing a variety of entities including premises/business owners, retailers, and government housing authority organizations against habitability claims brought by tenants. Nirali earned her J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.


Burton Peebles, Associate
Atlanta, Employment

Burton joins the Atlanta office as a member of the Employment practice group. He has broad experience with federal and state administrative trial practice, telecommunications regulation, business formation, and compliance strategy. Before joining the firm, Burton served as a regulatory associate with a boutique law firm in Metro Atlanta representing telecommunications and emerging technology companies before the FCC and all state regulatory commissions. Burton earned his J.D. from Emory University School of Law and his B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.


Brittany Primavera, Associate
New York, Employment

Brittany joins the New York office as a member of the Employment practice group. She has experience representing both employers and employees in all aspects of employment law in New Jersey and New York including wage and hour actions, discrimination actions, and agency charges of discrimination. Brittany earned her J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law and her B.A. from Ramapo College of New Jersey.
