Gordon & Rees Welcomes Sixteen New Attorneys in November 2018

In November, Gordon & Rees welcomed sixteen new attorneys to our Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, Nashville, New York, Orange County, Philadelphia, Phoenix, and San Francisco offices. They join us as members of the Commercial Litigation, Construction, Employment, Environmental/Toxic Tort, Insurance, Professional Liability Defense, and Tort & Product Liability Practice Groups.

Beth Aney, Senior Counsel
San Francisco, Construction

Beth joins the San Francisco office as a member of the Construction practice group. She has extensive experience representing corporations and individuals in personal injury, property damage, premises liability, breach of contract, and complex commercial litigation matters. Beth earned her J.D. from Golden Gate University School of Law and her B.A. from the University of California, Santa Barbara.


Marvis Barnes, Associate
Chicago, Commercial Litigation / Environmental/Toxic Tort

Marvis joins the Chicago office as a member of the Commercial Litigation and Environmental/Toxic Tort practice groups. He concentrates his practice in commercial litigation and business disputes. His experience also includes work in the areas of real estate litigation and transactional services, product liability, and employment litigation and counseling. Marvis earned his J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law and his B.S. from Florida State University.


Robert Blanchfield, Senior Counsel
Nashville, Employment

Robert joins the Nashville office as a member of the Employment practice group. In 15 years of private practice, Robert has represented more than 250 businesses in employment, labor, products liability, tort, franchise and commercial litigation before administrative agencies and in state and federal courts. In the area of employment law, he regularly advises businesses regarding wage & hour, EEO, on-boarding, discipline, termination, compensation, performance measures, reductions in force, drug testing, EAP programs and workplace safety. Robert earned his J.D. from Rutgers School of Law and his B.S. from The University of Alabama.


Christopher Camera, Associate
New York, Commercial Litigation / Professional Liability Defense

Christopher joins the New York office as a member of the Commercial Litigation and Professional Liability Defense practice groups. His practice focuses on defense of general liability matters in the courts of New York. Prior to joining the firm, he worked in a general litigation firm concentrating on commercial litigation and criminal defense. He also has experience handling premises liability and automobile accident matters. Christopher earned his J.D. from New York Law School and his B.A. from Seton Hall University.


Lisa Cappelluti, Partner
San Francisco, Construction

Lisa joins the San Francisco office as a member of the Construction practice group. Her practice emphasizes the representation of developers and general contractors in construction disputes and contract consultations. She represents clients throughout the state in pre-litigation disputes and construction litigation involving defect issues, construction site injuries, environmental issues, mold claims, contract and delay claims impacting both residential and commercial construction projects. Lisa earned her J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law and her B.A. from Santa Clara University.


Daniel Feinberg, Partner
Chicago, Insurance

Daniel joins the Chicago office as a member of the Insurance practice group. He is a litigator who has handled complex commercial cases for approximately 20 years. He has trial, appellate and ADR experience in a broad range of insurance coverage and bad faith cases in state and federal courts throughout the United States, in addition to defending claims and lawsuits involving errors and omissions, directors and officer’s liability, and other long-tail property and bodily injury claims allegedly arising from exposure to asbestos, industrial waste, defective products and other toxins. Daniel earned his J.D. from Loyola University Chicago and his B.A. from Indiana University.


Juliana Ferraz, Associate
Orange County, Tort & Product Liability

Juliana joins the Orange County office as a member of the Tort & Product Liability practice group. She focuses on products liability and mass tort defense. She has handled numerous tort cases from inception to trial in both state and federal courts. Prior to joining the firm, Juliana worked as a deputy district attorney in Ventura County, CA. Juliana earned her LL.M. from Florida Coastal School of Law and her LL.B. from Faculdade de Direito da Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie.


Amy Frenzen, Senior Counsel
San Francisco, Commercial Litigation

Amy joins the San Francisco office as a member of the Commercial Litigation practice group. She handles a wide variety of commercial litigation matters at both the state and federal level. Prior to joining Gordon & Rees, Amy worked as Of Counsel for a Northern California-based firm advising large corporations, nonprofits, and political action committees regarding various political compliance issues, campaign finance, complex lobby disclosure filings, and government ethics. Amy earned her J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law and her B.A. from Sonoma State University.


Peter Geckeler, Senior Counsel
San Francisco, Construction

Peter joins the San Francisco office as a member of the Construction practice group. He has a varied civil litigation practice primarily involving construction and insurance matters throughout California. His construction practice focuses on the representation of residential and commercial builders and developers in complex, multi-party construction defect matters. Peter earned his J.D. from Washington University School of Law and his B.A. from Oberlin College.


Jacqueline Guesno, Of Counsel
Denver, Employment

Jacqueline joins the Denver office as a member of the Employment practice group. She represents employers before federal and state courts and administrative agencies in matters involving alleged violations of ADA, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, ADEA, FMLA, FLSA, FEHA, and CADA. She has served as lead trial counsel in ten employment trials nation-wide involving claims of gender discrimination, age discrimination, pregnancy discrimination, FMLA interference/retaliation, worker’s compensation retaliation, disability discrimination, race and national origin discrimination, retaliation and FLSA violations. Jacqueline earned her J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law and her B.A. from Saint Louis University.

San Francisco, Employment

Anna joins the San Francisco office as a member of the Employment practice group. Prior to joining Gordon & Rees, Anna represented clients in matters related to commercial, products liability and personal injury actions. Anna earned her J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law and her B.A. from the University of San Francisco.


Geoffrey Repo, Partner
Chicago, Insurance

Geoffrey joins the Chicago office as a member of the Insurance practice group. He is a commercial litigator with almost 20 years of experience handling complex insurance matters, as well as other business and contractual disputes. He has trial, appellate, mediation and arbitration experience in a broad range of insurance coverage and bad faith litigation in state and federal courts throughout the United States, in addition to defending claims and lawsuits involving errors and omissions, directors and officer’s liability, and other long-tail property and bodily injury claims allegedly arising from exposure to asbestos, industrial waste, defective products and other toxic chemicals. Geoffrey earned his J.D. from Boston University School of Law and his B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles.


Mark Rosenberg, Associate
Philadelphia, Insurance

Mark joins the Philadelphia office as a member of the Insurance practice group. He practice focuses on advising and representing clients and domestic insurers on insurance coverage, class action and bad faith matters. He assists insurers by providing coverage opinions, prosecuting and defending declaratory judgment actions, and defending insurers against claims for bad faith. He negotiates and litigates disputes involving first- and third-party coverage matters ranging from property damage to complex personal accident and disability claims. Mark earned his J.D. from Notre Dame Law School and his B.A. from the University of Notre Dame.

San Francisco, Construction

Lisa joins the San Francisco office as a member of the Construction practice group. She has an extensive background in construction litigation and has represented virtually all categories of participants in the design, development and construction process. Most recently she has focused on the representation of residential and commercial builders in complex litigation, including real estate transactions, pre-litigation dispute resolution processes, construction defect actions and personal injury claims. Lisa earned her J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law and her B.A. from Vassar College.

Nadia joins the Los Angeles office as a member of the Employment practice group. Nadia earned her J.D. from Southwestern Law School and her B.A. from Belarus State University.

Rachel joins the Phoenix office as a member of the Commercial Litigation practice group. Rachel earned her J.D. from DePaul University College of Law and her B.S. from California State University, Northridge.
