Ciara Koba Elected President of National Alliance of Medicare Set-Aside Professionals

Ciara F. Koba, Partner in the firm's Pittsburgh office, has been elected President of the National Alliance of Medicare Set-Aside Professionals (NAMSAP).  NAMSAP is the largest professional organization serving the Medicare Secondary Payer industry.  The focus of the organization is to provide networking opportunities to its members while providing education and resources covering all areas of Medicare Secondary Payer compliance.  Members of this group include, but are not limited to, attorneys, insurance executives/professionals, self-insured companies, insurance carriers, nurses, physicians, pharmacists, professional administration companies and MSA allocators.   

Koba has been involved in the organization since 2012 and has served on the Board of Directors for five (5) years.  Most recently in 2019, Koba served as the Executive Secretary of the group and the Co-Chair of the Communications Committee.  She will serve a one-year term as President which began on January 16, 2020. 

"I am excited for the opportunity to lead this organization in 2020," said Koba.  "There are many regulatory changes on the horizon that present advocacy and educational opportunities for the organization."

Under Koba’s leadership, the organization is setting some big goals for 2020 which include a re-branding initiative to increase membership and outreach through updates to their technology, mission and messaging.  Additionally, NAMSAP will continue to work closely with CMS to provide industry input and thought leadership in all areas of Medicare Secondary Payer Compliance. 

Finally, on the heels of the 2019 NAMSAP Annual Conference, the largest event in the organization’s history, the group is focused on delivering the best Medicare Secondary Payer speakers and content at the 2020 conference which will be held in Baltimore, MD in the fall.  Click here to visist the NAMSAP website.
