Partner John Palmeri Serves on Faculty of ABOTA "Civility Matters" Program

Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani Partner John Palmeri served on the faculty of “Civility Matters” by the American Board of Trial Advocates ("ABOTA") Colorado Chapter on October 14, 2021.

Civility Matters is a program for lawyers of all experience levels. The presentation was part of a national effort to help lawyers handle themselves with civility and professionalism when faced with challenging situations. The session presented different scenarios involving discovery disputes, depositions and trial situations that challenged civility and professionalism. Three teams consisting of prominent plaintiff and defense lawyers, moderated by District Court Judge Teri Vasquez addressed how to avoid and handle the challenging situations.

Palmeri handles complex civil litigation including the defense of professional malpractice lawsuits against lawyers, physicians, directors, officers, architects and engineers. He is the firm's professional liability practice group leader. He has tried dozens of cases to verdict in federal and state courts. In addition to his trial practice, Palmeri has argued precedent-setting cases in federal and state appellate courts.

ABOTA is a national association of more than 6,000 experienced trial lawyers and judges dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the civil jury trial right provided by the Seventh Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
