Gordon & Rees to Present February 9 Webinar on Keeping the Water Cooler Safe: Politics & Current Events in the Workplace

As part of the firm’s 2016 National Employment Law Webinar Series, Gordon & Rees will hold a webinar titled “Keeping the Water Cooler Safe: Politics & Current Events in the Workplace,” on February 9 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. PST.

The live, monthly webinars offer free, practical training on current and emerging employment law issues for large and small companies. Gordon & Rees attorneys provide in-house counsel, human resources professionals, payroll managers, and others with a convenient way to stay up to speed so they can make well-informed employment decisions on a day-to-day basis and avoid the expense and uncertainty of litigation.

For the February webinar, attorneys from Gordon & Rees’s Employment Practice Group will discuss an overview of the legal obligations employers have when their employees decide to share their thoughts and opinions on the world around them, especially when dealing with opinions on controversial topics that may oftentimes cross the line. Given recent current events as well as the upcoming election cycle, employers are often left confused about how to balance these two competing interests. Gordon & Rees San Diego partners, Stacey Cooper and Jon Yonemitsu, will share best practices for navigating the complex and confusing area of the employee water cooler. A Q&A session will follow the webinar.
