Morris submitted supplemental public comments to the State Bar of California’s Standing Committee on Professional Responsibility and Conduct (COPRAC) regarding proposed amendments to the California Rules of Professional Conduct governing attorneys’ use of artificial intelligence.
The submission, Supplemental Public Comment on COPRAC’s June 2026 Modified AI Rule Proposals: From Professional Accountability to Workable Oversight, addresses emerging issues involving agentic AI, proportionate review and verification, lawyer accountability, client disclosure, law firm governance, and the developing statutory framework under Senate Bill 574.
Morris previously submitted Public Comment on Proposed Amendments Addressing Artificial Intelligence: AI, Legal Judgment, and the Future of Competent Lawyering during the State Bar’s initial public comment period in March 2026.
