Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani has been ranked No. 20 on the National Law Journal‘s 2025 Women in Law Scorecard and No. 67 on The American Lawyer‘s 2025 Diversity Scorecard as part of the annual Talent Report, which captures data on who makes up Big Law’s talent, from titles to demographics.
The firm jumped 22 spots from its ranking of No. 89 on last year’s Diversity Scorecard, which measures minority representation in the country’s largest law firms. This year, attorneys from racial and ethnic minority groups accounted for 23.2% of all attorneys in the 195 law firms that submitted demographic data to The American Lawyer, up from 22.4% minority representation in 2023 and 15% minority representation in 2015. Minority partners also reached 14.2% of total partners, an increase from 13.6% in 2023 and 8.2% in 2015.
“We’re proud to see our efforts reflected in these national rankings, but even more proud of the culture that drives them,” said partner Laura De Santos, who co-chairs GRSM’s Diversity Committee alongside partner Franz Hardy. “From our early initiatives in the 1990s to our continued presence on the Diversity Scorecard, GRSM has remained focused on building a workplace grounded in equality, inclusion, and opportunity.”
GRSM’s ranking on the Women in Law Scorecard also rose two points this year to No. 20. The Scorecard, produced as part of the NLJ 500 annual headcount report from the previous year, ranks the largest law firms in the country by their representation of female attorneys within their firm. The firm recorded 46.3% women attorneys in 2024, outpacing the industry median of 39.2% for firms within the NLJ 500.
“The Women’s Initiative at GRSM is dedicated to fostering leadership, providing meaningful mentorship, and creating an inclusive environment where women attorneys can advance to the highest levels within the firm,” said Debra Ellwood Meppen, Chair of the Women’s Initiative. “Our continued progress on the Women in Law Scorecard underscores the measurable impact of these efforts in advancing and retaining top-tier talent firmwide.”
GRSM’s commitment to diversity, equality, and inclusion inspires the firm to consider leaders from a wide range of backgrounds across all levels of the firm. This dedication is evident in our 20-year presence on The American Lawyer‘s Diversity Scorecard, as well as our Mansfield Rule 7.0 Certification and consecutive 100% rating on the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index since 2016. The firm continues to evolve our DEI initiatives to create a workplace where equal opportunities for growth and achievement are available to all.
