Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani South Jersey Partner Melissa Brown and Associate Brittney Nochimson secured summary judgment on behalf of the firm’s client, a law firm, in a matter arising from the client’s representation of an employer in a whistleblower retaliation case.
The plaintiff alleged fraud, defamation, and negligence stemming from the law firm’s defense of its client, the plaintiff’s former employer. The GRSM team successfully argued that the law firm owed no duty to the plaintiff and that the underlying court had already found no credible evidence of fraud. They further demonstrated that the claims were independently barred by the litigation privilege, the statute of limitations, and the entire controversy doctrine.
