Duncan G. Byers has more than 22 years of legal and leadership experience. He concentrates on complex civil litigation and intellectual property law throughout the United States in state and federal courts.

He handles all aspects of intellectual property law: conducting IP audits, drafting and negotiating technology and IP transfers, intellectual property prosecution, as well as handling related matters in the Federal Administrative Courts of the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He is admitted in Virginia, federal district and appellate courts of the Fourth Circuit, the Third Circuit, the Federal Circuit, the Court of Federal Claims, and other federal jurisdictions including the Federal Court for the District of Nebraska. He is experienced as local counsel in the Eastern District of Virginia, and as insurance defense counsel for intellectual property matters.

His civil litigation practice in state and federal courts covers a wide range of matters in addition to intellectual property, including all business disputes and contract litigation as well as trusts wills and estates litigation.
