Melanie M. Butler

Shortly after becoming licensed to practice law, Melanie operated a solo practice focused on unemployment and state disability appeals, plaintiff employment matters, landlord and tenant disputes, and consumer bankruptcy. She also gained experience representing plaintiffs in wrongful termination, retaliation, discrimination, wage and hour, class action, independent contractor misclassification, and Private Attorneys General Act claims.

At a prior firm, Melanie advised employers on compliance with California and federal labor and employment laws and negotiated pre-litigation resolutions of employment-related claims. Her experience representing both plaintiffs and employers provides her with a unique perspective when assisting employers in defending against employment-related claims.
