Melissa Bickel is a seasoned attorney with more than 25 years of legal experience spanning both defense and plaintiff-side personal injury matters, as well as public sector representation. She began her career as a personal injury defense attorney, where she served as sole trial counsel in ten automobile-related cases, securing favorable verdicts in each.

In 2010, Melissa founded her own plaintiff-side personal injury practice, giving her a well-rounded perspective on litigation strategy from both sides of the aisle. She later served as counsel to Sacramento Regional Transit and the City of Sacramento, where her work focused on personal injury and employment defense, internal labor relations, and administrative matters. In that role, she also helped develop the City’s processes for appeals involving cannabis licensing and enforcement penalties.

Prior to joining GRSM, Melissa spent five years working closely with judges of the Yolo County Superior Court, providing legal research, analysis, and recommendations on law and motion and probate matters.

Melissa draws on this breadth of experience to provide practical, strategic counsel tailored to her clients’ needs.
