Rebecca “Beck” Patty is a talented attorney with more than 30 years of experience in environmental law.

Before joining GRSM, Rebecca spent many years as Assistant Attorney General and Associate General Counsel for the Alabama Department of Environmental Management, where in her first year, she collected $1.5 million in penalties. She also collected more than $2 million in money owed to the citizens of Alabama through financial assurance litigation. Rebecca assisted in depositions and trial preparations for the case, In re: Oil Spill by the Oil Rig “Deepwater Horizon” in the Gulf of Mexico, on April 20, 2010, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Louisiana, No. 10-MDL-02179.

Rebecca further assisted the Department of Justice, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation in criminal convictions in a water pollution case. While excelling in her profession, Rebecca has also served as adjunct professor at several major universities, and a law school, helping to prepare new paralegals, legal assistants, and attorneys for the challenges they will face in the legal field.
