Sabrina M. Kawana

Associate

Sabrina’s practice focuses on defending design professionals and other construction industry clients in complex commercial litigation throughout Hawaiʻi. She has substantial experience representing architects, engineers, landscape architects, and other design professionals in high-exposure construction defect matters involving high-rise condominiums, residential developments, hotels, commercial properties, and large-scale renovation projects.

In addition to her construction practice, Sabrina defends professionals in professional liability matters, including claims against accountants, insurance agents and brokers, and real estate professionals. She also handles a broad range of commercial disputes, tort claims, and products liability matters.

Sabrina earned her J.D. from the William S. Richardson School of Law at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, where she received CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in Civil Rights and Construction Litigation. During law school, she served as co-managing editor of the University of Hawaiʻi Law Review, captained the Manfred Lachs Moot Court Competition Team, and served as an officer of Advocates for Public Interest Law. She earned her B.A. in Politics, with a minor in English, from Willamette University.

Before joining Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani, Sabrina served as a judicial law clerk for the Hawaiʻi Intermediate Court of Appeals and for the Honorable Jeannette H. Castagnetti of the Circuit Court of the First Circuit, State of Hawaiʻi.
