Biography

Heather T. Daiza is Senior Counsel in the Carlsbad and San Diego offices of GRSM and is a member of the Employment Law practice group. Heather defends businesses in a wide range of matters, including claims of wrongful termination, breach of contract, FEHA claims, constructive discharge, management disputes, administrative agency response, and wage and hour single and class action, including in the transportation industry. Heather also counsels businesses on employment and contract-related matters. Her goal when representing all clients is to always exceed their expectations, which she believes requires many qualities, including efficiency, attention to detail, client engagement, and adhering to the highest standards of excellence.

Heather is experienced in successfully defending and counseling clients in commercial disputes/litigation, breach of contract/business torts, Government Tort Claims Act claims, shareholder derivative suits, premises liability disputes, construction defect suits, insurance disputes and trademark prosecution. She also serves corporate clients in drafting business transaction agreements including privacy agreements, licensing agreements, nondisclosure agreements, and services agreements. Heather is adept in handling business litigation, and recently prevailed in an arbitration on a breach of contract and misrepresentation case for a marketing and web designing company, where the arbitrator issued an award in favor of the respondent.

During law school, Heather clerked in both civil litigation and transactional practices. She graduated cum laude, and with a Business Law and Practice concentration with honors. She was an Editor and Published Author with California Western Law Review Journal & International Law Journal.  Heather received multiple awards and the highest grades in six courses, including legal skills, ethics, research, negotiation, trademark, and substantive legal courses such as remedies. Heather also served as an Intern at California Western School of Law’s Trademark Clinic, where she was provisionally licensed to practice in front of the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Ms. Daiza was a Research Assistant for two Professors, including ProFlowers distinguished Professor Nancy Kim in contract law.
