Kasey Theresa Mahoney is an associate in the Commercial Litigation practice group in the New York and New Jersey offices of Gordon & Rees. Ms. Mahoney’s practice includes commercial and civil litigation concerning complex business matters, and she is well versed in Federal Consumer Protection Laws. She has comprehensive experience in handling all stages of litigation, having drafted pleadings, discovery documents, and all manner of motions.
Ms. Mahoney graduated from Brooklyn Law School in May 2018 as part of the 2-year JD program. While in law school, Ms. Mahoney worked for Brooklyn Law’s Incubator and Policy Clinic and had the opportunity to counsel tech startups and entrepreneurs in the fashion, consumer goods, immigration, and FinTech industries. Ms. Mahoney was able to explore policy issues with cryptocurrency regulation, the benefits of AI and the legal practice, and provide legal counsel to bootstrapped startups. Ms. Mahoney also participated in Christie’s Auction House’s legal externship program where she worked as a commercial law intern.
Ms. Mahoney will be published in the Spring of 2019 in the Brooklyn Journal of International Law where she will provide a study of the Republic of Turkey’s attempts to preserve its cultural property and the unforeseen issues concerning geographic renaming that arise when courts attempt to apply the 1970 UNESCO Convention to cultural property disputes.
