Biography

Katiuska (“Kati”) Pimentel Vargas is a talented commercial litigation associate based in the San Francisco office, where she brings her expertise to the forefront as a valued member of both the Commercial Litigation and Cyber, Privacy & Data Security practice groups. With a multifaceted skill set, Kati adeptly represents businesses in navigating complex litigation matters spanning contracts, corporate governance, fraud, data breach and cybersecurity, intellectual property disputes, and various other business torts.

Prior to joining GRSM, Kati honed her legal acumen at DoorDash, Inc., where she served on the legal privacy team, offering invaluable counsel on compliance and regulatory issues vital to the company's operations. Her time at DoorDash provided her with firsthand experience navigating the intricate intersection of law and technology. Kati brings extensive research capabilities and a sharp legal mind to her practice, attributes cultivated during her time as a judicial extern for the Honorable Susan Illston of the U.S. District Court, Northern District of California. Her dedication to serving her community and advancing legal education is evident through her role as a student clinician for the Internet and Intellectual Property Justice Clinic during law school. In this capacity, she provided essential support to small businesses and startups, including advising a client in a trademark opposition case before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.

During law school, Kati's commitment to legal excellence extended beyond her academic pursuits. She held the role of Vice President of the Data Privacy Society, where she contributed to fostering a community of learning and awareness around crucial privacy issues.
