Peter Choi is Senior Counsel in the Los Angeles office of Gordon & Rees and is a member of the Employment Law practice group. Mr. Choi has experience in representing employers in all aspects of state and federal employment matters, including class actions and representative actions for wage and hour violations. Mr. Choi has extensive experience in representing employers of all sizes, spanning a range of industries, including the hospitality, security guard and transportation industries. Mr. Choi also has experience litigating large scale coordinated actions, including litigating a coordinated action against an international hotel company for wage and hour violations.
Mr. Choi’s employment practice also includes defending clients against claims of discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, defamation and harassment, in addition to counseling on wage and hour compliance.
Prior to joining Gordon & Rees, Mr. Choi worked as a plaintiff’s attorney for over a decade, during which he litigated and worked to secure multiple seven and eight figure settlements on behalf of his clients, including in cases which were appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court. Mr. Choi has also prepared appeals and writs in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the California Supreme Court. Mr. Choi’s experience as a prior plaintiff’s attorney also gives him a unique perspective, which he uses to his advantage to proactively create a defense strategy tailored to the unique needs of each case that he handles.
