Chicago Associate Chirag H. Patel was sworn in as President-Elect of the South Asian Bar Association of Chicago (“SABA Chicago”) on February 15, 2018. Judge Neera Walsh (Cook County, Illinois) conducted the swearing in ceremony for 2018 Executive Board. Patel was elected by a member vote in December 2017. He will serve one year as the President-Elect before taking over as President. This is Chirag’s fourth year as an executive member. Chicago Partner Avanti Bakane also attended the swearing in ceremony. Bakane served as SABA Chicago's President in 2015 and President-Elect in 2014.
SABA Chicago is a professional organization that has served South Asian legal professionals and the greater Chicago community since 2000. The organization was founded to advance the professional development and growth of a diverse member community, disseminate relevant information, and foster a culture of service within and beyond the South Asian legal community.
