Gordon & Rees’ National Cannabis, Hemp & CBD Practice Group Expands Reach to Offer Capabilities in 50 States and D.C.

The Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani Cannabis, Hemp & CBD Practice group has expanded its national reach and now has members in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.  With 74 attorneys, the firm now boasts one of the largest and deepest cannabis practice groups in the country.

Its members come from diverse backgrounds and are experts in their fields. Members have litigated high profile matters, published and presented nationally on a host of topics, and hold leadership positions with local, state, and national organizations, including the American Bar Association and Defense Research Institute.  In the last year alone, practice group members have presented at industry-wide events in Ohio, D.C., Texas, Nevada, and California.

Up next, practice group leaders Christopher Strunk, Sarah Turner, and Doug Smurr will give in-person presentations in Washington D.C. at the 2021 Hemp Business Summit sponsored by the National Industrial Hemp Council November 14-16.

The practice group has also obtained several high-profile successful results for firm clients this year.  A Gordon & Rees team utilized California’s anti-SLAPP statute to parlay a pivotal defense settlement resulting in the dismissal with prejudice of a lawsuit against the City of Pasadena and all other 121 commercial cannabis applicants including its client, Harvest of Pasadena, LLC. Another Gordon & Rees team successfully obtained a complete dismissal for a client in a hotly contested, multi-million dollar breach of contract and trademark dispute.

The firm’s representation includes clients across the spectrum in the United States, from nationally recognized brands to localized boutique proprietors.  Our members have worked with established international conglomerates and start-up entrepreneurs engaged in harvesting, refining, distilling, extracting, dispensing, distributing, and investing in this proliferating market.  Our reach also includes providing ancillary products, services, and support for the industry. No matter your need, Gordon & Rees has experienced attorneys ready to assist you in each of the 50 States.

The group’s national platform of lawyers practice in a wide range of industries and practice areas, with each lawyer bringing their considerable experience to provide focused solutions for our cannabis, hemp, and CBD clients in:
