Chicago Partner Craig Jacobson Co-Authors ABA Property Insurance Article

Craig Jacobson, a partner in Gordon & Rees’s Chicago office, has co-authored an article published in the Winter 2016 edition of the American Bar Association’s Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Law Journal.

The article, titled “Recent Developments in Property Insurance Coverage Litigation,” addresses the impact of a number of recent notable decisions issued during the past year on property insurance coverage issues including loss causation, damages, business interruption and covered property limitations, as well as the application of common exclusions such as earth movement, vacancy, dishonest acts, faulty workmanship, ensuing loss and mold and water damage.  The article also discusses the rights and obligations of parties involved in property damage insurance claims.

Jacobson concentrates his practice on the handling and litigation of complex insurance coverage disputes. He regularly represents domestic and international insurers in matters involving coverage issues arising under property policies. He has successfully litigated a number of major first-party property insurance coverage actions across the United States, including claims arising from the September 11 terrorist attacks and Hurricane Katrina.
