Franz Hardy Delivers Featured Presentation on Overcoming Obstacles and Turning Weaknesses into Strengths to Students

Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani Denver Office Co-Managing Partner and Co-Chair of the firm's Diversity Committee Franz Hardy will be the featured guest speaker at Law School Yes We Can Colorado's annual "Holiday Fiesta!" on Monday, January 7, 2019. Hardy will deliver a timely new year inspirational presentation titled "Overcoming Early Obstacles and Challenges" to Law School Yes We Can students, fellows and mentors.

Hardy's presentation will focus on overcoming life challenges and the keys for success for college students with aspirations of a legal career. He will discuss how early life challenges can actually aid in building tools to help you succeed later in life. Hardy will also include how hard work, resilience, and self-confidence helped him overcome obstacles and developed a career as an attorney.

Hardy is a trial attorney with a focus on business and insurance litigation, including commercial disputes, directors and officers liability, coverage, and employee benefits. Hardy is also recognized as an accomplished professional liability practitioner representing attorneys and law firms. He maintains an active state and federal court practice, including handling numerous appeals. Hardy is a frequent author and lecturer on various topics affecting attorneys and the practice of law, including ethics, privileges, confidentiality, and diversity.  Hardy is the immediate past president of the Denver Bar Association.

Law School…Yes We Can is the first law school pipeline program of its kind in Colorado – a program that targets high achieving college freshman from diverse backgrounds and mentors and trains them for four years.  It is also unique because it takes mentoring to a new level.  The program helps these students (1) identify the unique challenges they will face in the future; (2) cultivate the skills and relationships they need to mitigate competitive disadvantages that can accompany those challenges; and (3) perform at their peak academic, professional, and leadership levels while they are still in college.  Through exposure programs, Law School…Yes We Can also demystifies the law school application process and give students access to the legal profession.

Gordon & Rees's Diversity Committee is dedicated to cultivating an environment that values differences and is committed to fostering an environment that supports diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Several of its attorneys are mentors to students in the Law School … Yes We Can program.  To learn more about Gordon & Rees's commitment to diversity, please click here.
